Can you sum up your life in six words? Or lay down your credo? Or capture your take on our time, the world or life in general?
With the help of Ogilvy Montreal, McGill University has just launched a bold, splashy advertising campaign to publicize Campaign McGill, their multi-million dollar fundraising drive. The main purpose of the Six-Word Campaign is to highlight the achievements of some of their outstanding professors and students. But the fun part is that it also gives you a chance to try your hand at a literary form that celebrates extremes of brevity.
Allegedly, Ernest Hemingway wrote “For sale: baby shoes, never worn” – and called it a six-word novel. Go to www.mcgill.ca/6words, read about some of McGill’s brightest lights, then see if you find six words that tell your story.
